LTPM Exhibition Branding 1.2

Visited the Grayson Perry 'Vanity of Small Differences' exhibition in Bath. As I was there I took the opportunity to take some photos and note down how the exhibition was put together.

The exhibition was all in one room so there was a lack of wayfinding as it wasn't needed. However there was a plaque on the wall facing you as you walked in explaining what the exhibition was about, a quote from Perry and also the materials and processes used. This gave the audience some context and in depth information about the production of the work and issues they cover.

There was strictly no photography inside the exhibition so it was hard to document the branding of the exhibition.

Advertised an app to support the exhibition which provides audio information as the audience is walking around.

There were plaques on stands that supported each individual tapestry:

This was a really great idea for the exhibition because the tapestries were very large and busy and the plaque explained the context and concept behind each tapestry, following the story of Tim Rakewell over the 6 compositions. However, the plaque was very small so it was very hard to read when it was busy as everyone was crowding around the small plaque. To overcome this, the exhibition had 4 tablets placed around the room which also had the information. I think the exhibition would benefit from either a small printed publication that holds the information about the exhibition so people can refer to it when walking around. This would help the exhibition flow better.
