OUGD504 - Design for Screen - My Brief

My research and potential concepts for bringing hands on processes onto screen lead me to look into the resources that I use to inspire creativity. Based on the crit sessions and feedback I have received, it is clear that I have explored a lot of solutions, however identifying a problem was proving harder than I thought. My research into immersive and engaging websites such as Les Garcons Sauvages and Studio Lauke Siebien demonstrated what can be achieved on screen which has been really inspiring. By analysing user interfaces that I am interested in and use on a regular basis in relation to my interests, I identified that People of Print has a lot of potential for improvement as the content is all present and contemporary, however the interface doesn't reflect the raw and physical presence of print media.

The Brief

Problem

People of Print is a dependable design website that focuses on inspiring and educating creatives in the world of print media, however their website interface doesn't engage or excite creative minds. Considering People of Print's website provides a plethora of print media, the website struggles to deliver this content in an engaging and immersive fashion due to the static and crowded interface which doesn't reflect the raw and physical presence of print media. People of Print's expansion towards retail and promotion has crowded the site, making the user experience frustrating and problematic, ultimately hindering creative inspiration.

Question

How can I take advantage of the potentials of user interface and experience to help People of Print fulfil its purpose to inspire and educate creatives?
