Whilst publishing a missing person's face over the campaign would increase awareness of their disappearance, I will need permission from the Police as well as their family members. The fact that I am solving a sensitive issue meant that I could slightly abstract the face so that it is still recognisable however the identity cannot be confirmed.
Inspired by the graffiti stencils from the Syrian Martyrs Campaign:
Chose both male and female subjects to appeal to both genders:
Created a composition combining and layering the stencils:
Obscures and abstracts the faces of the missing people. The high contrasting shapes within the layered negative space shows how the perspectives of missing people is blurred. The composition also illustrates the confused position of a missing person taking on a new identity such as the use of a false name.
Poster concept:
Traditional missing persons poster inspired by my research.
Aim to develop the poster further.
