OUGD503 - Responsive - Collaborative Practice - Card Sleeve

For consumers to buy the glossary cards from the gift shop we thought it would be nice to package them up so the user can keep them all together. To achieve this we can create boxes or a simple sleeve to hold all the elements together. As Sammy and I are in charge of this, he went out to experiment with the box, while I started developing a sleeve:

The card size is A6 - Standard size

For the wrap around sleeve, I worked out 2 x A6 widths and make sure I added an allowance for the deck of cards.

Measurements for A6 = 105 x 148 mm

= 210mm

For experimentation, I am going to add a further 5mm to accommodate the deck of cards.

Width = 215mm

Measured out an A6 card so that I could explore the height of the sleeve:

Decided initially on 80mm to allow the top and bottom of the cards to be visible.

Initial outcome:

Sammy had already gone ahead with the box which seemed to be the preferred packaging option from the group. Sammy's objective nature pulled through to create the box. Personally, I feel the box should be minimal to add class and sophistication. The contents of the box is vibrant and expressive which would have complimented the minimal box.

Considering Sammy's outcome was a lot more developed that mine, I decided to go ahead with the box concept.
