OUGD503 - D&AD - Monotype - Street Market - Concept Development

Based on my research into markets it is clear that they are being underrepresented as 'the big 4' are abusing their power. Making people aware of the facts will ultimately raise awareness of markets and how much they benefit society and the economy.

Concept 1:

Create an easily changeable price tag for the market owners to use to create consistency between their price tags, highlighting how cheap the products are whilst capturing the culture within the typeface. This would provide an appropriate solution to the brief's 'touching point' requirement. The typeface can then be used to promote the campaign by printing it on the paper bags, recycled tote bags and also posters, creating consistency throughout.

Posters: Use a diverse range of typefaces and techniques to represent the cultural diversities markets offer. The rawness created by printing techniques can potentially be used to reflect the fresh, local produce.

Experimented with Glaser Stencil because its DIY style would translate well into the raw function of markets. The fact that the typeface is a stencil would allow me to spray paint/cut out the design. However, there could be some legibility issues when the type is presented on a small scale.
