I can broaden my target audience by making my publication free for anyone to pick up and take away, however the content would need to be friendly and stimulating because a range of people from different backgrounds and interest are more likely to read it. Enhancing the meaning and emotive qualities of the typography will stimulate the broad audience which will change there perception of typography. Taking influence from CRACK magazine, the publication can be dropped in various locations around Bristol such as cafes, community areas and bars. A free publication will need to be cheap and easy to produce as the print run will be large. To achieve this, I would need to consider the amount of colours the print needs. Using a two tone or black and white colour scheme will lower print costs and an easy binding method will make the production and distribution of the product more convenient.
On the other hand, I can aim my publication at a narrower audience by creating a highly produced, specialist publication for a creative audience. This could be in the form of a coffee table publication, however the images that I've captured aren't a good enough standard/quality to be presented on an extra large canvas. I will consider Tschichold's golden ratio principle for the size of the publication, however I will discuss these two concepts in a crit session to gain feedback on what people find the most appropriate target audience.
