OUGD504 - Design for Print - Concept Review #3

My publication is going to be a hardback coffee table book documenting Bristol's diverse culture through typography. Large, high quality images will be the main focus, with limited copy to introduce the audience to the publication and inform them about Bristol.

The target audience will be Bristolian's because they are proud of their diverse creative city, but also people in the creative field and followers of visual culture. Coffee table books are made to be admired, to stimulate conversation and display purposes. They usually take prime position on shelves and tables because of the high quality production methods which is why they are often very expensive. This decision was influenced by my research into coffee table books, particularly MATISSE and Sebatiao Salgado's publication. In order to capture the audience, I can advertise the publication online on sites such as typetoken, ItsNiceThat and Design BOOM because they are sources that people in the creative field follow and rely upon.

The tone of voice will still be third person, however the language will be formal and concise because people buying the expensive publication will buy it for it's quality appeal and informative copy.
