OUGD504 - Design for Print - Presentation/Feedback

Organising crit sessions are key to creating a professional product so I used a broad range of images so that the audience knew about the diverse use of type around Bristol. Each slide was dedicated to the themes I had identified when reviewing my images:

  • Diversity
  • Juxtaposition of type styles
  • Nightlife
  • Environmental Impact
This gives my audience a greater understanding of the context of Bristol.

I then introduced an initial concept I developed over the summer by showing the type in and out of context, where I gained positive feedback. I was asked how I could translate the in/out of context in a book form so I explained how I wanted my publication to be unique in form and content so I suggested having in content on the front and out of context upside down or in reverse. This is something I want to take into another crit, asking if anyone knows about any contemporary editorial designers. I should have taken more advantage of the opportunity to gain more advice and suggestions, however just talking about my work in the crit has sparked development.
