OUGD603 - Peter & Paul - LAU Interior Brief

Sent over my three pieces of work:

I used a variety of works to demonstrate my passion for traditional print and typography.

Feedback:

Peter&Paul got back in contact and accepted me to be part of the project:

THE BRIEF:

Peter & Paul have been commissioned to create a stand alone interior art piece, spanning the full height of the main interior wall in the reception area.

To celebrate 170 years of the art school, we contacted 48 staff and student alumni to tell us about their experience.

We want to fill the wall with posters of alumni quotes. A bit like this...

This is where you come in!

Step 1 - We'll give you a quote from one of our alumni. Read this a minimum of 20 times and digest it fully. You need to understand the quote back-to-front.

Step 2 - You design an A1 poster at 300dpi

Step 3 - We'll print your poster and put it on the wall (along with 47 others).

This is your quote:

Be a sponge. The knowledge offered is more valuable than inkjet printing. Absorb it all.

Jack Fisher, 2014

Things to consider:
  • You’ve been selected because your portfolio suits this project, but it’s a great opportunity to really let yourself go.
  • We need one poster, but you can submit as many as you want. We'll pick the best.
  • How you respond to the quote is totally up to you. It can be anything from a piece of photography to an expressive piece of mark-making. Clean graphics to totally distorted experiments on the photocopier (for example). If it communicates the sentiment of the quote then it's right.
  • Your poster MUST include the quote as text.
  • Don't design anything too small. It should be readable from a distance.
  • Feel free to send us initial designs or workings. Email lau@peterandpaul.co.uk
